JOHOR DT ON RIGHT TRACK TO RETAIN AFC TITLE

AFC CUP: JOHOR DT 3 - BENGALURU 0

Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) cruised into the AFC Cup knockout rounds being the only team to record a 100 per cent record in the group stages. The visitor managed to hold the defending champions in the first half, but crashed after the break as JDT took full control of the match.

Safiq Rahim came on to replace Nazrin Nawi in the 59th minute opened the scoring with a fine deflected goal. The skipper later created an opportunity for Safee Sali to double the lead for the home side.

Midfielder Shakir Shaari added the third goal of the match with a freekick in stoppage time. The win sent JDT into the round of 16 and will meet Filipino side Kaya on May 25.
