MALAYSIA SEALS ASIAN RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP DII TITLE

ARC: MALAYSIA 53 - THAILAND 7
Malaysia wrapped up their Asian Rugby Championship DII campaign as the champions after thrashing Thailand 53-7 in their last match at the Kelana Jaya Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. The host nation did not face much problem to overcome their neighbour as they dominated through out the match.

Malaysia took just five minutes to pick their first points through Mohamad Syarif Sudin's penalty. Four minutes later, they were 10-0 up after a try by Amirul Sani and conversion by Mohamad Syarif. The Malaysians showed very good discipline and determinations to take control of the match. They moved 15-0 in the 22nd minute through Amirul Sani's try, before Thailand gave the home crowd a little thrill with a try by Kwan Chumjai and conversion by Warongkorn Khamkoet. However, the morale of Malaysian players were not affected by Thailand's moves. They put up stronger performance to pick another two tries by Atunasia Lacadamu Takubu and Etonia Vaqa Saukuru before the end of the first half.

Malaysia continued to dominate in the second half. The Thais were not given any chance at all. Amirul Sani made his third try of the match four minutes after the restart. Sae Faalupega scored the conversion a minute later. Backed by some 10 thousand home fans, Lee Nyuk Fah boys played brilliantly to snatch another three tries through Vatimio Rabebe, Amirul Mukminin Amizan and Etonia.

Malaysia's domination was so obvious in the second half as the Thais could not break through. They finally clinched the ARC DII title after winning all their three matches. The victory qualifies them to play in the ARC Division 1 next year.
