AUSTRALIA DOMINATE FIT YOUTH TOUCH WORLD CUP WITH SIX GOLDS

Australia dominated the 2018 FIT Youth Touch World Cup in Putrajaya by winning six golds from all categories. New Zealand came second overall, followed by South Africa after playing at the four days tournament hosted by Malaysia. Nine countries competed in the third edition of the championship.

Australia won all the U20 finals. Their Mens team beat New Zealand 9-5 in the final. The Womens team also hammered New Zealand 13-1, and the Mixed team secured another gold after a 9-6 victory in the finals.

In the U18 category, the Australians grabbed all gold at stake. Their Boys team defeated New Zealand boys 12-7 in the final. The Girls clinched the gold after a 11-3 win over New Zealand, and the Mixed team edged New Zealand 10-8 in the finals.

The FIT Youth Touch World Cup was back after 13 years. Malaysia was chosen to host the tournament where 28 teams from 9 countries had taken part. The Senior Touch World Cup will be held here again in 2019.
