HARYANA AND ODISHA CLAIM INDIA'S NATIONAL 7'S TITLES

Haryana clinched the India's National Rugby Sevens Championship after defeating Delhi in the final. The defending champions beat their neighbour 14-10 in Chandigarh to retain the title. It was a tight finale where Delhi did not go down easily.

After thrashing West Bengal 22-0 in the semifinals, Haryana were in full of confidence as they took the pitch at Punjab University. Delhi beat Maharashtra 17-5 in the last four, gave a good fight before losing in the final.

Odisha beat West Bengal 12-0 in the final to become the women's champions. West Bengal defeated Bihar 45-5 in the semifinals, and Odisha edged Maharashtra 15-10 to take the other final spot.

25 mens teams and 21 womens teams took part in the 2018 Societe Generale Senior National Rugby 7s Championship in Chandigarh. This year's edition is the biggest national rugby tournament ever held in India.
