AZLAN SHAH CUP: MALAYSIA 2 - SOUTH KOREA 3

Malaysia failed to maintain their winning run after going down to former Asian champions South Korea with a narrow 3-2 score at Azlan Shah Stadium in Ipoh, yesterday. Playing in their forth match in for the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, South Korea stunned the host with an opening goal in the third minute. Lee Nam-Yong added the second in the 29th minute to give the South Korean a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Two goals within four minutes put Malaysia back into the match. Faizal Saari found the net in the 32nd minute and Razie Rahim equalised in the 34th minute. While the Malaysian hunting for the winner, Kim Young-Jin beat the Malaysian defence again for the visitors' third goal. The goal was enough to end Tai Beng Hai boys' dream of play in the final.

Meanwhile, South Korea may clinch the final spot if they can topple New Zealand in the next match. Malaysia, still have a chance to finish in the top four. They must win over Canada, and hope for Australia to beat India in their final group match on Saturday.
