ZAQHWAN CAPTURED ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP AT MSS 2014

Fresh from lifting the CP130 champions trophy early of this month, the joy continues for Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi after the Penang-born rider sealed the 2014 MSS Super bike title in the Malaysian Super Series Championship which was held at Sepang International Circuit last Sunday.

It was quite easy for Zaqhwan as his closest rival, Mohd Syahnas Shahidan had to withdraw in the first race due to engine problems. Zaqhwan took the opportunity to end the first race behind Muhammad Zamri Baba of R&D PLUS Racing Team to equal his points with Shahnas at 146 and took the title down to the wire.

Both of Zaqhwan and Shahnas knew that only the winner of the Race Two can achieve the success, and Zaqhwan did his best to power his Honda CBR to finish line in style.

Zaqhwan clocked 13:23.036 to win the race followed by Zamri in second with 13:23.519 while Mohd Shahnas had to settle in third with 13:24.523. He also captured the overall title after collecting 171 points from six races, followed by Shahnas in second with 162 points while Steve Martin from SBK Motorsports Martin Racing come up in third with 149 points.
