UPM ANGELS BEAT IIUM MUSTANGS IN SUPER 8 FINAL

IPT SUPER 8: UPM ANGELS 31 - IIUM MUSTANGS 11

UPM Serdang Angels clinched the 2014 IPT Super 8 title after defeating IIUM Mustangs 31-11 at the UPM Stadium on Sunday. The Angels took full control of the match to deny the Mustangs cup dream.

UPM took an early lead just after three minutes into the game when Muhammad Nazreen Fitri converted a penalty. They did not take long to send the crowd on their feet again when Nazmi Hussin tried six minute later.

IIUM could not stop the flying Angels. UPM got another two tries from Muhammad Syafiq in the 27th and 30th minutes. Muhammad Aliff Nazrin managed to score a penalty for IIUM, but they were still down 3-23 at the break.

IIUM was more organized early in the second half. Muhammad Aliff scored another penalty six minutes after the match resumed. However, the Angels were not in the mood to give IIUM a fighting chance. They replied with two tries in three minutes through Muhammad Aliff Al-Hafiz and Aliff Sazrie, and their supporters went crazy.

IIUM managed to get a try from Muhammad Irsyad Mardi for a late come back, but UPM Angels were already cruising for the championship. They did not make mistakes to secure the title with a 35-11 victory. A great performance, and the supporters jumped into celebration as the referee blew the final whistle.
