COBRA FALLS TO KERIS CONLAY IN MRSL SEMIFINAL


MRSL SEMIFINAL: COBRA 14 - KERIS CONLAY 16

Keris Conlay fought back in style to reach the Malaysia Rugby Super League Final after defeating Cobra at UKM Stadium on Saturday.

Cobra opened the scoring with a penalty in the first minute. Followed by a try in the 10th minute to give Cobra the lead with 11-3. Keris Conlay, Etonia Vaqa Saukuru tries in the 38th minute to live up their chance in the match. Cobra held on with 11-8 until the break.


Keris Conlay came back stronger after the match resumed. However, Cobra scored a penalty in the 66th minute to make it harder for Keris Conlay. Waisiki Ramatau got another try in the 76th minute for Keris Conlay to put them infront with 16-14.

Cobra increased the pressure on Keris Conlay defence towards the end. But Keris Conlay players held it really tight to deny Cobra's attacks, and send them into the MRSL final.


In another semi final match, SSTMI hammered Serdang Angels 29-3 to set-up an interesting cup final against Keris Conlay. Saizul Hafifi Mohd Noor had two tries in the first half to give SSTMI a comfortable 17-0 lead. Serdang Angel had no answer to SSTMI offensive approach.
