ALYSSA FALLS TO ARINA AT BMW MALAYSIAN OPEN

Alyssa Boey failed to make it through the first round of qualifiers in the BMW Malaysian Open at the Royal Selangor Golf Club in Kuala Lumpur today. In her first ever appearance in the BMW Malaysian Open, Alyssa, 17, did not to pose a serious threat in the 6-1, 6-1 defeat to Australia’s Arina Rodionova.

A winner of seven titles on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Circuit, Arina was flawless throughout the match but Alyssa did well to break her serve once in the second set. Alyssa, who is Malaysia’s sole representative in the BMW Malaysian Open, admitted hat she was no match for the Australian. “I lost and of course, slightly disappointed, however, it was a good experience. I was slower on court compared to Arina. She outclassed me in every aspect of the game,” said Alyssa today.
