MANU TUILAGI STARS AS ENGLAND BEAT TONGA

England bagged their first win in the 2019 Rugby World Cup by defeating Tonga with a 35-3 victory. It is England's third win over Tonga in Rugby World Cup history.

Manu Tuilagi plundered two first-half tries at the Sapporo Dome after repeatedly forcing a path through the Islanders' defence to emerge as the otherwise ragged 2003 champions' most potent threat. Jamie George and Luke Cowan-Dickie got another two tries in the second half. Owen Farrell made six successful kicks to deliver 15 points for the lions.

Tonga got their only points through Sonatane Takulua's penalty in the 14th minute. The match ended with Tonga pouring forward in search of a deserved try and they will be emboldened by their success in frustrating England's strongest available side.

RUGBY FOR ALL
