SIME DARBY MOVE CLOSER TO FAM CUP TITLE

FAM CUP: UKM FC 0 - SIME DARBY 1

Sime Darby FC are on a brink to win the 2017 FAM Cup competition after they sealed a valuable win last night. The Klang Valley outfit took a 1-0 win over UKM FC in the first leg of the FAM Cup final at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, Seremban. Muhammad Zul Fahmi Awang secured the win for Sime Darby FC after the striker beat UKM FC keeper Mohamad Khairi Hassan with a fine finish in the 53rd minutes. Mohd Faizal Abd Faiz almost put Sime Darby FC in comfort but his effort just inches away from the goal post.

UKM FC were down to 10 men after centre midfielder, Muhammad Azri Zulkiflee were given a marching orders in the 76th minutes due to his second yellow card. UKM FC were awarded a penalty by the referee in the 85th minutes for a hard challenge by a Sime Darby player. Mohammad Rafizi Mohd. Hamdan squandered the chance for an equalizer as the striker failed to execute and put UKM FC is in an uphill task for the return match. The second leg of the final match will be held at MBPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya on the 22nd October 2017.
