SELANGOR BEAT PENANG IN BATU KAWAN

LIGA SUPER: PENANG 1 – SELANGOR 3

Penang relegation from the Liga Super has been confirmed with a defeat to Selangor at State Stadium in Batu Kawan, yesterday. The Red Giants took the lead through Andik Vermansyah goal in the 25th minutes.

Penang put an equalizer with Muhd Jafri Firdaus Chew goal four minutes after the break. Selangor took the game into their hand after Spanish talisman, Rufino Segovia stretching the gap with a fine finish in the 52nd minutes. Ten minutes later, Rufino put Selangor in comfort with the third goal which saw Penang goal keeper Amirul Asyraf Mohd Suhaidi look dejected with his team performance.

Penang squandered the chances to close the gap after a penalty taken by Mohamed Syamer Kutty failed to hit the net in the 74th minutes. The Panthers could not get back into the game and Selangor's victory ensure Penang move to the second tier next season.
