PERAK LIFT THE AGONGS CUP AFTER A DRAMATIC WIN

PIALA AGONG: PERAK 17 - JOHOR 14

Perak lifted the Agong's Cup for the first time after beating Johor 17-14 in the final at Sandakan, on Sunday night. Wan Mohd Asraf sent Johor six points clear with two penalties in the 8th and 19th minute. Vaovasa Afa made the first try in the 32nd minute to give Johor 11 points advantage.

Perak's number eight, Veniona broke the duck after making a try in the second half. Aamir Aswad scored the conversion to keep Perak's title dream alive. Perak pressed Johor to the end. Aamir Aswad beat two Johor players for another try. Mohd Faizal made no mistake for the conversion and both teams were tied 14-14 in regulation time.

Four minutes into the added time, Aamir Aswad turned hero for Perak as he scored the winner through a penalty. It is the sweetest victory for Perak who finished runners-up in 2015.
