ITALY BEAT NAMIBIA TO CLAIM FIRST WIN AT RUGBY WORLD CUP 2019

Italy won their opening game of a Rugby World Cup for the first time since 1991. They beat Namibia 47-22 in a match at Hanazono Rugby Stadium. Namibia took the lead in the 5th minute through Damian Stevens try. Italy were awarded a penalty try in the 10th minute before Tommaso Allan and Tito Tebaldi added with two more tries. Tommaso scored all three conversions before the break. Italy came back after the break with more fire. Edoardo Padovani , Carlo Canna , Jake Polledri and Matteo Minozzi tries put them closer to the quarterfinals. Cliven Loubser scored a late try for Namibia but was not enough to deny the Italians. Namibia's record streak of Rugby World Cup games without a win (or draw) is now 20. Italy's Sergio Parisse became the third player to play at five Rugby World Cups, after Brian Lima (Samoa), and Mauro Bergamasco (Italy). Follow  The Match  on  Facebook

UNSTOPPABLE ALL BLACKS SEND WARNING WITH WIN OVER SOUTH AFRICA

All Blacks  fired an ominous warning of their grim focus to secure a record third-straight  World Cup  crown by grinding past  South Africa .  New Zealand  are the only country never to have lost a group stage match at the RWC, winning all 29 they have played. Scott Barrett  scored his fourth test try and his third against South Africa.  George Bridge  has scored six tries in his last three matches and is on a total of eight in his first six test appearances.  Handre Pollard  kicked South Africa's 16th drop goal in RWC history. South Africa have now lost their opener at two consecutive World Cups. In 2015, they lost against  Japan  but managed to take two bonus points. JAPAN DEFEATS RUSSIA ON RUGBY WORLD CUP 2019 OPENING NIGHT

Japan overcame a nightmare start to its own Rugby World Cup to clinch a 30-10 victory over Russia in the tournament's opening game Friday. After not winning any of their opening matches in their first seven World Cup participations, Japan have now won their opener in each of their last two. The Brave Blossoms won after trailing by seven points. A fifth-minute try by Russia was the fastest in the opening match of a Rugby World Cup. Kotaro Matsushima became the first player to score a hat-trick of tries for Japan in a World Cup match. He also became the first to score three tries in a World Cup opener. Japan's starting front row made 32 tackles without missing a single one. Luke Thompson joined centre Yukio Motoki as the only players to have represented Japan in four different World Cups. LABUAN CLINCH WOMENS U20 TITLE AT NATIONAL SEVENS

Labuan U20 Women's Team  won the  Malaysia National Rugby Sevens  after defeating Sabah 17-10 in the Cup Final.  Nurul Izza Khalisah Abu Samah  turned hero for her team with two important tries in the title deciding match. Labuan had a good run in the first round of the tournament by picking up 3 wins in a row. They beat  Sarawak  17-10,  Terengganu  17-10 and a stunning victory over host team  Perak  27-0. The  Labuan  girls continued their good form on the second day by defeating  Johor  22-10 in the semifinals. However, the toughest opponent were waiting for them in the final. Sabah took a 10-0 lead in the first half.  Nuramira Nassan  came off the bench to take Labuan back into contention. Nurul Izza got the equalizer with just two minutes left to play. And it was a moment of brilliance for the team as Nurul Izza scored the winning try in the dying minutes. It was a great achievement for  Labuan Rugby . RMAF BLACKHAWK RETAIN KL RUGBY TITLE

RMAF Blackhawk succesfully retained the Kuala Lumpur Rugby League title after they beat Anchorman 23-7 in the final on Sunday. The defending champions produced a solid performance to overcome the star studded opponent at the TUDM Bellamy Rugby Field in Kuala Lumpur. Blackhawk went 9-0 ahead in the first half after scoring three penalties before they added two converted tries after the break. Anchorman attempted a comeback in the second half with a penalty try, but the Blackhawk were in complete control of the threat with strong discipline. VIOBA Blues clinched the third place after defeating MCOBA Tortoise in an earlier match at the same venue. MCOBA were looking good after taking 12-5 lead in the first half, but VIOBA fought back after the break to win the match with 20-12 final score. The KL Rugby season ended on a good note. SOUTH KOREA BAG SECOND WIN OVER MALAYSIA IN ARC 2019

South Korea  showed their determination to win their first ever  Asia Rugby Championship  by beating  Malaysia  38-16 at the Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday. It was quite a frustrating night for the Malaysian team as they fought hard to claim their first win in the Asia Top Division in front of the home fans. After beating Malaysia in the first match in Incheon last week, the Koreans displayed strong performance to claim full points before facing the defending champions,  Hong Kong . South Korea went ahead in the opening ten minutes with two tries by  Sungkun Cha  and  Daeyoung Yang . But then,  Mohd Fairuz Ab. Rahman  scored a penalty before a converted try by  Amirul Mukminin Amizan  levelled the score 10-10. SOUTH KOREA BEAT MALAYSIA IN ARC 2019 OPENER

South Korea kicked off their Asia Rugby Championship campaign with a 52-14 victory over Malaysia in Incheon. It is a perfect start for the home side as they scored eight tries to earn the bonus point. Malaysia stunned the crowd at the Namdong Asiad Stadium with an early try through Lawrence Petrus , before Mohd Fairuz Abdul Rahman delivered the conversion. However, South Korea bounced back with three tries by Jihoon You , Seong Min Jang and Myung Jun Lee . The Koreans went into the break with a comfortable 19-7 lead.
