ALEXANDER BJORK SEALS BREAKTHROUGH WIN AT THE VOLVO CHINA OPEN

Alexander Björk became the first Swede to lift the prestigious Volvo China Open trophy after he closed with a bogey-free seven-under-par 65 to win by one shot at the Topwin Golf and Country Club on Sunday. The 27-year-old Björk, who started the round one shot back, rolled in seven birdies for a winning total of 18-under-par 270 and claimed his maiden title on both the Asian Tour and the European Tour in the CN¥20,000,000 (approx. US$3,178,000) event. Björk endured an anxious wait before his victory was confirmed after overnight co-leaders Matt Wallace of England and Adrian Otaegui of Spain failed to eagle the par-five 18th hole to force a play-off. He took home a winner's prize purse of CN¥3,333,330 (approx. US$526,400). Otaegui birdied the last to sign for a second straight 67 and finish in second place on his own. Wallace settled for a 68 following a closing par to share third place with countryman Jordan Smith (64) and Jorge Campillo (67) of Spain on 272. A

LEBANON CLINCH ASIA RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP DIV III WEST TITLE

Lebanon bagged the Division III West Asia Rugby Championship title after beating Iran 29-17 at Fouad Chehab Stadium. Iran did not go down easily as they showed a good performance in the first half to keep the score tied at 10-10 before the break. However, they were down to 14 men after a player was given the red card for a high tackle. The Lebanese Phoenix took the advantage well in the second half before taming the Iranians with a 29-17 victory. Iran were in the final after defeating Qatar 17-8, while the Phoenix hammered Jordan 62-3 in the semis. SELANGOR ESCAPE KUALA LUMPUR TEST TO REACH FA CUP SEMIFINALS

FA CUP:  SELANGOR 0(3) - KUALA LUMPUR 3(3) Selangor reached the Malaysia FA Cup Semifinals after beating Kuala Lumpur in penalty shoot-outs. After losing 3-0 in the first leg, Kuala Lumpur scored three times in 90 minutes to equalise the aggregate and the winner has to be decided through spot kicks. It was unfortunate for the C ity Hawks as Selangor won 8-7 to move into the next stage. Kuala Lumpur had a good start in the return leg as Zaquan Adha opened the scoring just after 15 minutes into the game. Paulo Josue made it two in the first half injury time to put the City Hawks in a good position for a comeback. Selangor came back after the break struggling to stop Kuala Lumpur. Syazwan Andik Ishak found the net for the third time for Kuala Lumpur to keep their chances wide open again. The Red Giants just could not get the goal this time. MARC MARQUEZ WINS SIXTH CONSECUTIVE MOTOGP GRAND PRIX OF THE AMERICAS

Marc Marquez and  Repsol Honda collected their sixth consecutive win at the Circuit of the Americas . The Spaniard dominated the race to finish 3.5 seconds ahead second place, Yamaha 's Maverick Vinales . Suzuki 's Andrea Iannone took the third place behind the two Spanish riders. After the incident with and Valentino Rossi at the Grand Prix of Argentina , Marquez served a three-spot grid penalty and went on to ride a clean and well-executed race. Andrea Iannone took accelerated to take the lead when the lights went out, but the Italian didn't have enough to hold his position. Marquez took over the lead after turn 12 and left the rest with his Honda. Maverick Vinales started at pole position squeezed past Iannone on lap seven to finish second, and teammate Valentino Rossi had to settle for fourth place. PERAK BLOW CHANCES, MAKE WAY FOR PKNS FC IN FA CUP

​ FA CUP: PERAK 2(3) - PKNS 2(4) PKNS FC held Perak to a 2-2 draw in Ipoh and secured a place in the Malaysia FA Cup Semifinals. After a 2-1 win in Shah Alam in the first leg match, PKNS FC went all out to deny the Bos Gaurus from stealing away the slot in the last four. The first forty-five minutes saw both sides defended well and remained scoreless. However, PKNS were more dangerous after the restart. Rodney Celvin Akwensivie found the net in the 55th minute to make it more difficult for the home side. A successful penalty in the 64th minute by K. Gurusamy killed-off Perak's chances. Perak tried to bounce back with two goals by Nor Hakim Hassan and Nasir Basharudin in the last twenty minutes. But not enough to stop PKNS from qualifying into the next stage. GANGJEE ENDS 14-YEAR TITLE WAIT WITH VICTORY AT THE PANASONIC OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

India's Rahil Gangjee ended his barren run that stretched over a decade by closing with a three-under-par 68 for a one-shot victory over Korea's Hyungsung Kim and Junggon Hwang at the Panasonic Open Golf Championship on Sunday. Gangjee admitted he had self-doubts after not being able to enjoy much success since his last Asian Tour win in China in 2004. However, it was his sheer will power that brought him back into the winner's circle after enduring years of frustration. Despite the immense pressure on 18, Gangjee managed to hit his bunker shot out to within 10 feet of the pin. The 39-year-old would go on to sink that decisive birdie and win his second Asian Tour title with his four-day total of 14-under-par 270 at the JP¥150,000,000 (approx. US$1,370,000) event that is sanctioned by the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour Organisation (JGTO). FA CUP: FELDA UNITED 1(2) - PKNP FC 2(2) PKNP FC sneaked through into the Malaysia FA Cup Semifinals after a 2-1 victory over Felda United . The visitors got two away goals, thanks to Shahrel Fikri Fauzi 's brace which had taken them into the last four. After losing in in the first leg at Batu Kawan, PKNP FC traveled to Jengka to overhaul the 0-1 deficit. They pressed the home side and Shahrel found the net after 15 minutes into the return match. Wan Zack Haikal regained the advantage for Felda United with a good strike nine minutes later. However, PKNP did not give-up and played well on an unfamiliar ground. Two minutes before the end of the first half, Shahrel beat the goalkeeper again for his second of the night. Felda United tried to come back in the second half, but PKNP FC held on until the final whistle. A very frustrating night for Felda United as they threw away their advantage on their own pitch.
