​Anirban Lahiri captured his maiden European Tour title with a narrow one-shot victory over Bernd Wiesberger at the Maybank Malaysian Open . The Indian golf star, started the final day at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club with five strokes adrift after a superb ten-under 62 in the third round. He fired a four-under final round 68 to finish one stroke clear of the overnight leader. ​The 27 years old Lahiri rolled in a 40-foot birdie putt from off the green on the 17th hole to overcome a five-shot deficit at the start of play. Wiesberger held a two-shot lead over Spain's Alejandro Canizares heading into the final round, but the Austrian faltered, carding a two-over 74 to finish outright second on 15-under. ​Bernd Wiesberger completed a brilliant third round to take a two shot lead going into the final round of the Maybank Malaysian Open . The Austrian continued his remarkable form at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club to record the lowest score of his European Tour career. ​After finishing inside the top six at the three Desert Swing events, Wiesberger broke into the Official World Golf Ranking's top 50. He birdied the first five holes today and spent the remainder of the round trading blows with Alejandro Cañizares at the top of the leaderboard. ​Defending champions, Lee Westwood stayed strongly on the second day of the US$3 million Maybank Malaysian Open as Alejandro Cañizares joined him atop the leaderboard. ​​Lee Westwood continued his love affair with the Maybank Malaysian Open after opening with a brilliant six-under 66 to share the lead with Graeme McDowell today. Westwood won by seven shots here last year and again thrived at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club , mixing seven birdies with one bogey. Former U.S. Open champion McDowell then joined his Ryder Cup teammate in the lead as both took advantage of the easier morning conditions on a hot and blustery day in Kuala Lumpur. ​​McDowell matched Westwood almost stroke for stroke, also carding seven birdies, with both players' only blemish coming on the tricky par-4 sixth hole. ​MRSL: MERSING EAGLES 27 - ASAS RC 22 Mersing Eagles moved on in the Malaysia Rugby Super League with a narrow win over  ASAS RC  27-22 at UKM field, on Sunday.  Makiti Kotobalaug Turuva and Leone Baleibaravi Nawaly tries in the first half sent Mersing Eagles infront while ASAS replied with Atunaisa Takubu try and Mohamad Zharif Md Amir conversion which has ended the first forty minutes with 10-7. ​Both teams performed well in the second half with ASAS manage to take charge of the game, thanks to Hazim Fadilafadil try in 42nd minutes. ​The Maybank Malaysian Open 2015 today hosted a special meet and greet with the Malaysian Contingent who will represent the country at the upcoming tournament. It was an inspirational gathering for the twenty-two players as they assembled together and received words of encouragement from Maybank's Chairman Tan Sri Dato' Megat Zaharuddin and President of the Malaysian Golf Association, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Hj Mohd Nor. ​MRSL: KSDBKL 31 - KOR JLJ DIRAJA 23 KSDBKL showed a positive sign on Saturday to bounce back from their loss last week by defeating JLJ DiRaja 31-23. The KL side were beaten by Keris Conlay in their previous match at the UPM ground. KSDBKL were ahead just after three minutes with a try and conversion by Aisea Druma .
