SEA GAMES 2015: MALAYSIA SETS MEDAL TARGET IN RUGBY

Malaysia's rugby sevens coach, Nik Safuan Ismadi confident that his team has what it takes to win a medal at the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore. Although Malaysian Rugby Union (MRU) President Datuk Wira Amiruddin Embi only wants the team to do their best, Nik Safuan believes that the combination of new and seasoned players will produce a good performance at the games.

Malaysia's best finishing at the SEA Games was silver at the 1995 edition in Chiangmai, Thailand. The last time rugby was held in the SEA Games was in Korat in 2007 and Malaysia finished fourth after losing to Singapore in the third-placing playoff. Eight countries – Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Laos, Cambodia and Singapore – will compete in the Sevens competition at Choa Chu Kang Stadium.
