STACY LEWIS TAKES THE LEAD AT SIME DARBY LPGA MALAYSIA

​ World No. 1 Stacy Lewis took a one stroke lead after completing the first round of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia . The American displayed a faultless round with 6-under 65 at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club today. ​ The early pace was set by So Yeon Ryu who picked up a birdie on the first hole, followed by four consecutive birdies on holes four to seven, together with a further three on the back nine. However, Lewis shot a total of six birdies without any bogeys on her way out of the tight leaderboard. ​ Tied for second were the South Korean quartet of Na Yeon Choi, Hee Young Park, Eun Hee Ji and So Yeon Ryu. SABAH SECURE FINAL BERTH AFTER BEATING KELANTAN

​ AGONG'S CUP: SABAH 26 - KELANTAN 24 Sabah confirmed their spot in the final of the 2014 Agong's Cup after recording a 26-24 victory over Kelantan in their semifinal match yesterday. The 2012 Champions, Kelantan gave Sabah a good fight before going down in the very tight semi final match. Sabah launched continuous attacks towards Kelantan from the start. Kelantan was a little clumsy to concede 2 penalties in 5 minutes, where Orene Aii scored both in the 7th and 11th minutes. ​ Kelantan was back in the game in the 22nd minute as Muhammad Nazreen Fitri scored a penalty. That penalty somehow builds some confidence among the Kelantan players. Kelantan took over the lead with a try two minutes before the break. Muhammad Nazreen completed the conversion to give Kelantan 10-6 lead at half time. Sabah returned for the second half with a do-or-die mission. TERENGGANU BEAT PAHANG FOR AGONG'S CUP FINAL

​ AGONG'S CUP: PAHANG 19 - TERENGGANU 22 Terengganu marched to the final of the 2014 Agong's Cup after beating Pahang 22-19 in Bangi yesterday. Pahang, who knocked out defending champions Johor two days ago fell to Terengganu's final minute attempt. Terengganu opened their account in the 9th minute with a try by Ras Hurairah. However, Pahang equalized in the 12th minute from Muhamad Syabil Laila . Mohd Zamani Rosli converted and gives Pahang the lead a minute later. ​ The match between the two east coast teams was very close. Terengganu went ahead again in the 26th minute after Mohamad Faiz Abd Rashid scored a penalty. Second half resumed with Terengganu leading Pahang by just a single point (8-7). Pahang took the lead again six minutes after the restart. Mohd Zamani got a try and scores the conversion himself. Terengganu pushed forward with more players. LIPSKY AND LAHIRI TO TAKE MERIT BATTLE TO MACAU

​ American David Lipsky and India's Anirban Lahiri will resume their battle for the prestigious Asian Tour's Order of Merit crown at the upcoming Venetian Macau Open from October 23 to 26 at the Macau Golf and Country Club.   The top-two ranked golfers on the region's premier Tour have committed to play in the tournament, which will offer US$900,000 in prize money. Lahiri and Lipsky will be joined by many world-class stars including Ernie Els and Miguel Angel Jimenez in what is poised to be a thrilling swing on the Asian Tour .   Lipsky leads the Merit list with US$665,725, thanks largely to an impressive victory at the Omega European Masters in Switzerland last month while Lahiri trails in second place with US$342,689. ​  The Indian star, victorious at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters in April, knows the magnitude of the challenge ahead and believes he needs to secure a second victory of the season to have a chance of becoming Asia's new number one, a title won

SABAH JOINS PIALA AGONG'S BEST FOUR

​ AGONG'S CUP: SABAH 33 - PDRM 24    Sabah thrashed PDRM in the quarter finals 33-24 to claim a spot in the last four of the 2014 Piala Agong Rugby. The East Malaysian showed their true strength against one of the best team in this year's championship. ​​ Zakhwan Othman gave Sabah their first points with a try in the 19th minute. Orene Ai converted the score to seven a minute later. It took just two minutes for Sabah to grab another try from Jonathan Tan. Once again Orene did not disappoint from the spot to give Sabah the conversion. The Police did not let Sabah to run away easily. They managed to match their opponent until the break with a 14-14 score. ​​ Sabah came on for the second half stronger than before. They captured nineteen points from three tries by Marc Le , Jonathan Tan and Jonathan De Souza . Orene Ai scored two out three conversions to leave PDRM with 33-24 final score. DEFENDING CHAMPIONS FALLS TO PAHANG

​ AGONG'S CUP: JOHOR 19 - PAHANG 24 Pahang staged a stunning performance in the 2014 Piala Agong to beat defending champions, Johor  24-19 in the quarter final match on Monday. The most awaited match at the UKM Rugby Field in Bangi was very tight which ended with Pahang winning conversion by Mohd Fairuz Abd Rahman .  ​ Pahang were charging from the start and grabbed their opening try from Shahizam Tukiran before Mohd Fairuz converted from the spot. The 2014 Champions bounced back to equalize the score with a try by Jone Lagibola and a conversion by Mohd Razmi Rozan three minutes later.  ​ Pahang rectified the error and played some fine rugby until the end of first half. Mohd Fairuz scored a penalty in the 8th minute to give Pahang the lead again. A try and another conversion by Muhamad Syabil Laila and Mohd Fairuz put Pahang further ahead. RED GIANTS GET MALAYSIA CUP BASHING FROM THE FIGHTERS

​ MALAYSIA CUP: SELANGOR 0 - FELDA UNITED 4 The Red Giants suffered one of their most humiliating and embarassing defeat in the Malaysia Cup when Felda United thrashed them 4-0 in their first-leg quarter-final match at the Shah Alam Stadium on Friday. The Fighters are taking a comfortable advantage into the second-leg including a four-goal away cushion at the Selayang Stadium on Oct 10. Felda United have virtually qualified for the semi-finals of Malaysia's premier football competition under former Selangor coach, Irfan Bakti . Ndumba Makeche turned hero for Felda United after firing a hattrick with goals in the 22nd, 84th and 86th minutes while Liberian hitman Edward Junior Wilson got one on 45 minutes, leaving the Red Giants' fans shell shocked and a day to remember.
