SUPARK GRIZZLY CROWNED RW SELAYANG 10S CHAMPIONS

The inaugural RW Selayang 10s Rugby Championship ended in spectacular fashion as Supark Grizzly stormed to victory, defeating Semashur Zealord 21-0 in a rain-soaked Cup Final at the IIUM Gombak Rugby Field.

Despite the heavy downpour, the crowd of about 1,000 fans remained firmly in their places, cheering every tackle, run, and try. Supark Grizzly showcased clinical finishing and rock-solid defense, taking a commanding 14-0 halftime lead before sealing the Cup with an outstanding second-half performance.


Tries from Muhammad Haziq Hasrol, Muhammad Zamir Irfan, and Farhad Mohd Fairos, alongside flawless conversions from Aiman Nazmi Awaludin, secured Grizzly’s perfect 100% record throughout the tournament. Star player Muhammad Zamir was deservedly named Best Player of the Cup Final for his dominant display.

The host team, Rhinoz Warriors, gave their supporters plenty to celebrate by clinching the Plate Final with a commanding 24-0 win over Impact Oldboys. Muhammad Irsyad Syafi was honored as Best Player of the Plate Final after a powerful all-round performance.

In the Bowl Final, Shah Alam Rovers edged Kobau RC 7-5 in a nail-biting encounter, with Arif Hakimi Rosnan earning the Best Player Award. Meanwhile, the Shield Final saw Home of Warriors defeat OPA Black Scorpions 24-5, with Muhammad Arif Hakimi Othman named Best Player of the Shield Final.


The RW Selayang 10s was organized by Rhinoz Warriors Rugby Club, marking their first-ever tournament after an impressive season in which they were crowned Selangor Rugby Division Two League Champions earlier this year. Club President Musli Mat Isa and his committee worked tirelessly to bring the event to life, realizing a long-held dream for the club and community.

The tournament was officiated by Ahmad Zahiri, Selayang Municipal Council Member, who also provided financial and motivational support. Longtime supporters Laundry Bar and Tigers Super Sports, who have backed the Rhinoz Warriors over the last five years, also played key roles in making the event a success.

Despite challenges and heavy rain, the tournament ended on a high note, delivering thrilling rugby, passionate fans, and unforgettable memories. The success of the RW Selayang 10s sets the stage for an even bigger and brighter future for rugby in Selayang.

Muamalat Bullets proved once again why they are one of the fiercest forces in Malaysian rugby, clinching the PULAPOL 10s title with a commanding 19-7 victory over hosts PULAPOL KL in the Cup final. The  Kuching Rugby Football Club  (KRFC) Blackcatz emerged victorious in the highly anticipated  Song Kheng Hai Sevens  rugby tournament, claiming the title after a decisive 26-12 victory over  Asajaya RC  in the Cup Final.
