HONG KONG CAPTURE ASIA RUGBY UNDER 19 TITLE

Hong Kong clinched the Asia Rugby U19 Championship after beating Malaysia 67-10 in their last match. The win sent Hong Kong to join Japan, into World Rugby Junior Trophy 2017 in Uruguay, where both teams will be pushing for promotion to the Junior World Championship. Hong Kong got off with a strong start in Malaysia with 54-8 win over Chinese Taipei, and 61-0 over Sri Lanka.

In another match on the last day of the championship, Chinese Taipei defeated Sri Lanka 31-25 to claim their first victory after two losses. Chinese Taipei finished 2nd, Sri Lanka 3rd place and hosts, Malaysia 4th. It was a very tight affair for second place after all 3 teams secured at least a solitary win from three matches played.
