THE ELEPHANTS BEAT LIONS IN SINGAPORE

MALAYSIA CUP: LIONS XII 1 – PAHANG 2

Pahang took another step nearer to the quarter-finals after a convincing 2-1 win over Lions XII in Singapore. It was Pahang's second consecutive win in Group A.  Dickson Nwakaeme opened account for the Elephants in the 13th minute. The Nigerian capitalised on Lions XII's defensive error to score past goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud from close range.

The visitor gained more confident from the opening goal and dominated the match at Jalan Besar Stadium. Substitute Fauzi Roslan increased the lead with a long-range strike two minutes from time. Lions XII then managed reduce the deficit through Faris Ramli scored a controversial goal in the stoppage time.
