Thai hotshot Danthai Boonma held off a battling compatriot Jazz Janewattananond on the fourth play-off hole to win his first Asian Development Tour (ADT) title at the Boonchu Ruangkit Championship on Sunday. Danthai, a one-time Asian Tour winner, matched his opening efforts of a six-under-par 65 to end his campaign tied on 15-under-par 269 alongside Jazz (64) before the title was decided in extra time on the par-four 18th hole at the Rancho Charnvee Resorts and Country Club. The leading duo shot matching pars on the first two play-off holes and birdied the third before Danthai prevailed over Jazz with a par against a bogey on the fourth extra hole at the 3,500,000 Baht (approx. US$100,114) event, final leg of the 2016 ADT schedule. Ahmad Hazwan Bakri of Selangor bagged two awards at the Malaysia Football Award 2016, as Best Striker and Most Valuable Player. Johor DT's, Safiq Rahim claimed his fourth Best Midfielder award and Kedah's Rizal Ghazali was named as Best Defender. Khairul Fahmi Che Mat of Kelantan created history by winning his fifth Best Goalkeeper award. Kedah's coach, Tan Cheng Hoe also bagged the Best Coach award after guiding his team to Malaysia Cup success this year. Scott Hend has added another feather in the cap by winning the Asian Tour Players' Player of the Year award. Following a stellar 2016 campaign where he was crowned as the Asian Tour's Order of Merit champion with earnings of US$1.004 million, the 43-year-old was recognised by his peers as the top performer on the region's premier Tour through a voting process. Zimbabwean Scott Vincent was named Rookie of the Year after finishing 28th on the final Order of Merit with US$136,812, thanks to two top-10s including a runner-up finish at the Shinhan Donghae Open in Korea. The Sentosa Golf Club, host venue of the SMBC Singapore Open and also home of the Asian Tour , was voted as the Best Golf Course while the Shinghan Donghae Open in Korea, which made a welcome return onto the Asian Tour schedule following a lapse of 14 years, won the Best Spectator Engagement Event award. ASIA RUGBY UNDER 19 CHAMPIONSHIP MALAYSIA 10 - HONG KONG 67 CHINESE TAIPEI 61 - SRI LANKA 0 Hong Kong clinched the Asia Rugby U19 Championship after beating Malaysia 67-10 in their last match. The win sent Hong Kong to join Japan, into World Rugby Junior Trophy 2017 in Uruguay, where both teams will be pushing for promotion to the Junior World Championship . Hong Kong got off with a strong start in Malaysia with 54-8 win over Chinese Taipei, and 61-0 over Sri Lanka. In another match on the last day of the championship, Chinese Taipei defeated  Sri Lanka 31-25 to claim their first victory after two losses. Chinese Taipei finished 2nd, Sri Lanka 3rd place and hosts, Malaysia 4th. It was a very tight affair for second place after all 3 teams secured at least a solitary win from three matches played.

KL SUPER SERIES (RESULTS) KL SARACENS 0 - KL TIGERS 18 RSC 12 - COBRA 45 KL Tigers won the inaugural KL Super Series Rugby after winning their third and final match. The Tigers beat KL Saracens 18-0 in at Royal Selangor Club last Saturday. Saracens took the second place after good runs in their first two matches. In earlier match, Cobra secured the third place after beating RSC 45-12. The KL Super Series involves four great clubs over the last three weekends.

Australian Sam Brazel enjoyed a life-changing victory at the season-ending UBS Hong Kong Open on Sunday, sinking an eight-foot birdie on the last hole for a dramatic win. The 37-year-old Brazel showed nerves of steel under pressure to fire a final round of two-under-par 68 and lift his maiden Asian Tour title by one stroke with an aggregate of 13-under-par 267 at the Hong Kong Golf Club. Brazel, who earned US$330,330 and finished seventh on the final Asian Tour Order of Merit, pipped playing partner and Ryder Cup star Rafa Cabrera Bello , who missed a long birdie attempt at the closing hole in the US$2 million tournament sanctioned by the Asian Tour, European Tour and Hong Kong Golf Association. Local veteran Mukesh Kumar completed a wire-to-wire victory at the weather-shortened Panasonic Open India to claim his first Asian Tour title by one shot on Sunday. Kumar, who had a two-shot advantage heading into the third and final round, closed with a two-under-par 70 for a winning total of 10-under-par 206 at the US$400,000 Asian Tour event, which was earlier reduced to 54 holes due to fog disruptions. Kumar's victory, worth US$72,000, made him the oldest winner on the Asian Tour at the age of 51 years and 126 days. Indian duo Jyoti Randhawa and Rashid Khan closed with matching 68s to share second place at the venerable Delhi Golf Club. Mithun Perera of Sri Lanka capped his third consecutive top-five finish at the Panasonic Open India after signing for a 70 to take fourth place on 208.
