The road to Rugby World Cup 2027 heats up this June as the Asia Rugby Championship 2025 roars to life! This is no ordinary edition, it’s the most thrilling since Japan’s epic 2014 campaign that launched them onto the world stage.
With Japan already locked in for RWC 2027, four determined challengers — United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Hong Kong China, and rising force Sri Lanka — are just three intense battles away from claiming the coveted Asia 1 ticket to Australia!

And the drama doesn’t stop there. The runner-up still has a lifeline — a do-or-die clash with Africa 2 for a shot at the Final Qualification Tournament, set for 8–18 November 2025 at The Sevens Stadium, Dubai.

SSTMI STRONG DETERMINATION WINS BANK MUAMALAT MELAKA 10S

Sekolah Sukan Tengku Mahkota Ismail  (SSTMI Tsunami) won the  Melaka International Rugby 10s  after defeating  Muamalat Bullets  19-17 in the Open Cup Final Match. The young  Tsunami  players displayed a great fighting spirit to stun the more experience opponents in a nail-biting finale. Coached by  Syed Shazril Syed Mahadzir  and  Syahir Asraf Rosli , the SSTMI boys showed their class to compete against international players. They beat  KL Tigers  12-0 in the quarterfinals before taming  Muamalat Bazooka  24-10 in the last four. In the veteran category,  Melaka High School Oldboys  beat  SDAR Alumni  12-0 to claim the title.  ASAS Veterans  settled for third after beating  SMSS Oldboys  19-7 in the Plate Final. PDRM CLINCH FIFTH AGONG CUP TITLE IN THRILLING FINAL

In an exhilarating display of skill and determination, PDRM rugby team triumphed over Johor with a decisive 43-29 victory to secure their fifth Agong Cup title. The final, held at the UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam, showcased not only the talent of the players but also the strategic brilliance of the coaching staff. The match began with both teams demonstrating their prowess, resulting in a closely contested first half. PDRM held a slim lead of 19-17 as they headed into the break, setting the stage for an intense second half. However, it was the Police who came out with renewed vigor, displaying an impressive attacking strategy that overwhelmed their opponents. Despite a late surge from Johor, who managed to score two tries in the final 10 minutes, the PDRM maintained control of the match.
