LEE EARNS MAIDEN PGA TOUR WIN AT AT&T BYRON NELSON


K.H. Lee became the second consecutive Korean-born player to win the AT&T Byron Nelson. Sung Kang won in 2019, marks the first PGA Tour event to produce back-to-back Korean winners. The 29 year-old Lee performed well in the final round with 6 birdies to close with a 6-under 66. The victory is first career PGA Tour title in 80 starts. His previous best finish in the Tour was T2 at 2021 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

In bid to claim second PGA Tour title in as many starts, 54-hole leader Sam Burns birdied 72nd hole to finish second. Patton Kizzire birdied four straight holes twice in the final round to claim his best Tour finish since January 2018. Daniel Berger birdied eight holes in a 10-hole stretch to claim second top-10 finish in third AT&T Byron Nelson start. Jordan Spieth collected his first top-10 finish in 10th AT&T Byron Nelson start and seventh in last nine Tour starts.

Lee also set a new record at the AT&T Byron Nelson with 25-under 263, previous record was 23-under par since 1983. With the win, the Korean-born player move to No. 29 in the FedExCup and is projected inside the top 60 in the Official World Golf Ranking. He also claims the final spot into this week’s PGA Championship.
