DOUBLE VICTORIES FOR NEW ZEALAND AT CAPE TOWN SEVENS

New Zealand clinched the double at the Cape Town Sevens by winning both the women's and men's titles. The Black Ferns beat Australia 17-7 to win the women's title and secured a second consecutive victory in the World Sevens Series new season. The men's team came from behind to edge host nation South Africa 7-5 in the final.

After a scoreless first half, Justin Geduld put the Blitzboks in front with a try right after the restart. However, Ngarohi McGarvey-Black sealed the victory for the All Blacks with a converted try late in the second half. New Zealand now share the world seven series lead with South Africa after two rounds.

In the Womens final, New Zealand opened with a third minute try to Kelly Brazier, and led 12-0 at halftime after Tui's first try. Ellia Green cut the deficit to 12-7 with a converted try, but Tui sealed the deal with her second try two minutes from fulltime after fending off Cassie Staples. The Black Ferns sit top of the standings after three of the eight rounds with 56 points, six more than Australia.
