FIRDAUS NAMED 2011 ASIAN BEST PLAYER

Tigers United goalkeeper Mohamad Firdaus has been named the 2011 Asian footballer of the year. The Jajahan Ampang ex-player has established himself as first choice goalkeeper with the Tigers since arriving at the club in 2005. His displays last season have also helped Fadzil Hisham's side to finish top four in the Super League.

Firdaus is only the second Ampang player to win the award since its inception in 1992, following in the footsteps of the Ampang Jawa striker Kamal Ketibus. The award was voted for by the head coaches of the national teams in Asia. Pelita Jaya Safee Sali & Man United Park Ji-Sung finished second and third respectively.
