KUANTAN FC FALL TO JDT II

LIGA PREMIER: JDT II 4 - KUANTAN FC 1 Johor DT II secured three valuable points at home after beating Kuantan FC 4-1 in a Premier League match yesterday. Zaquan Adha turned hero by scoring a hattrick in the 55th, 65th and another one in the injury time. The first half ended goaless, but JDT II came on differently after the break. Paulo Rangel opened the scoring in the 47th minute. Kuantan pulled back one goal in the 58th minute, but the homeside were playing one of their best game of the season. ​

DANNY CHIA RETAINS PGM BUKIT JAWI CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

Malaysia's Danny Chia showed why he is the country's top golfer when he fired a flawless five-under-par 67 to successfully retain his PGM Bukit Jawi Championship on Saturday. Chia's winning total of 18-under-par 270 saw him sign off his campaign at the RM200,000 (approximately US$46,000) Asian Development Tour (ADT) event with a comfortable five-shot victory over compatriots Gavin Green and Ben Leong at the Bukit Jawi Golf Resorts. Green, who led the ADT event after the first two rounds, posted a 71 to share second place with Leong, who closed with a 69. Thailand's Itthipat Buranatanyarat together with Lexus Keoninh and Johannes Veerman of the United States had to settle for tied fourth place after the trio returned with matching 276 total. Is is Melaka's 7th win from 11 league matches this season, and share the top spot with Kuala Lumpur with 24 matches. JEUNGHUN WANG WINS AFRASIA BANK MAURITIUS OPEN

Korean sensation Jeunghun Wang continued his hot streak by claiming his maiden Asian Tour title at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open on Sunday, a week after securing his breakthrough victory in Europe. The 20-year-old Wang took advantage of overnight leader and Bangladeshi Siddikur Rahman 's late collapse by sinking a crucial birdie on the last to close with an even-par 72 and win by one shot on six-under-par 282 total at the Four Seasons Golf Club Mauritius at Anahita. Siddikur, who led by one at the start of the day, looked very much in control until a double-bogey on 16 and a bogey on 17 saw him sign for a disappointing 74 to take second place at the €1 million (approximately US$1.09 million) event. MALAYSIA WIN FIRST DIVISION ONE TITLE IN STYLE

ASIA RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP 2016 MALAYSIA 40 - SINGAPORE 20 Malaysia produced a huge surprise to secure their first ever major title by thrashing Singapore 40-20 to win the 1st Division of Asia Rugby Championship at the Royal Selangor Club pitch in Bukit Kiara on Saturday. Pretty much a newbie after the  promotion from Division 2 last year Malaysia secured the highest honor for Malaysian Rugby in many many years. Quite a tall order for Malaysia fielding many home grown and mixed of young and old players for the next generation of Malaysian rugby.  Mohd Azmir Zainul Abidin moved with two tries and Saukuru, Nasalo, and Takubu all with a try a piece from them respectively. Mohd Syarif Saiful Aazwan Sudin converted almost all the penalties and conversion for Malaysia. SRI LANKA EDGE PHILIPPINES TO FINISH SECOND

​ASIA RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP 2016 SRI LANKA 40 - SINGAPORE 20 Sri Lanka edged out a fighting Philippines in the very last minute of the game due to a spectacular try by Jason Dissanayaka who almost single-handedly took the the South Asia nation to victory by scoring two tries. What a game and what a result in the end as the Lankans were trailing 20-21 before the winning try came along. Sri Lanka in this tournament was never even close to their usual brand of rugby and were very lucky to end as runner-up. Sri Lanka scored three tries with Jason two and centre Kanchana Ramanayaka one while full back Riza 'Wilkinson' Mubarak  converted two tries and put over two penalties.  For the record the last Asian rugby - Division 1 championship in Manila, Philippines in 2015, Sri Lanka was the eventual champions by playing a slick brand of rugby due to lots of top class overseas players from South Africa, Fiji, Western Samoa, Tonga, Kenya and New Zealand turning out

JOHOR DT SINK PKNS FOR FA CUP TITLE

MALAYSIA FA CUP: JOHOR DT 2 - PKNS 1 Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) lifted the Malaysia FA Cup for the first time in the club's history after beating PKNS 2-1 in the final at the Shah Alam Stadium on Saturday. PKNS took just two minutes to give JDT a scare when Matias Jadue 's looping effort bounced off the crossbar to goalkeeper Izham Tarmizi Roslan's relief. However, PKNS were awarded a penalty three minutes later after Aidil Zafuan Radzak faulted for hauling Gonzalo Soto to the ground. Gabriel Guerra expertly converted the spot kick for a sixth-minute lead. JDT then received a spot kick of their own as PKNS goalkeeper G. Jeevananthan sent Jorge Pereyra Diaz sprawling after rushing off his line to intercept the ball. Safiq Rahim did not make any mistake to leave the match all square after 15 minutes. Then in the 35th minute, Safiq took a quick free-kick to release Diaz, whose initial shot hit centre-back Sivakumar and bounced into the goal. The win
