UNIKL WINS IPT SUPER 8 PLATE

IPT SUPER 8: UNIKL 8 - UTM 6 UniKL Miat Falcons won the plate final of the 2014 IPT Super 8 after defeating UTM Broncos 8-6. It was a very close match at the UPM Rugby Field as both team were very determined to grab something from the tournament which started on October 17. Although their earlier target was to be in the best four of the cup category, UniKL manager Khirul Anuar Mohamed is happy with his team performance. UniKL took the lead in the first half after getting a try in the 15th minute. The score remained 5-0 until the break. UTM got back into the match in the second half from two penalties awarded in the 48th and 56th minutes. However, the Falcons did not give up. They pushed harder and was given an opportunity in the 71st minute, but Abdul Rashid Azhar could not deliver the points. Five minutes later, UniKL got another chance from another penalty and this time Abdul Rashid sent it perfectly through to give the Falcons the winner. It was a sweet victory for UniKL Squad

KEVIN NA AND RYAN MOORE SHARE TOP SPOT AT CIMB CLASSIC

Kevin Na took the advantage of inconsistent forms by others as he moved up to share the lead with defending champions, Ryan Moore after third round of the CIMB Classic . Na, whose first professional victory came in Malaysia at the Asian Tour's Volvo Masters shot a 5-under 67 at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club . He was the only player in the field to record a bogey-free round Moore, who defeated Gary Woodland on the first playoff hole to win the CIMB Classic in 2013, shot 7 birdies and 2 bogeys. He is looking good to become the first player in tournament history to defend his title. This is the sixth time in Ryan Moore's career that he has led or shared the lead after 54 holes. He has gone on to win two of those events including last year's CIMB Classic. Eight-time PGA TOUR champion and highest-ranked player in the field, Sergio Garcia is one stroke behind leaders Kevin Na and Ryan Moore after the rain delayed third round. WESTWOOD HITS A HOLE-IN-ONE, HURLEY TAKES THE LEAD

Billy Hurley III displayed a brilliant performance at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club to take a two-shot lead after the second round of the CIMB Classic . Hurley made six birdies on his front nine en route to a 5-under 67 that sent him to the top, two strokes ahead of American compatriot Kevin Streelman (68) in the jointly sanctioned PGA TOUR and Asian Tour event. Hurley, who played bogey-free in the opening round is chasing his first tour victory. He said the ability to withstand bad moments and handle the pressure of being in contention is the main thing he learned from three top-10 finishes last year. There are seven players sharing the third position at 7 under, including defending champion Ryan Moore (69) and Malaysian Open winner, Lee Westwood. A winner on the same course in April this year, Westwood recorded a hole-in-one en route to a 65 that moved him into contention for his second win in seven months. KARLBERG TAKES TOP SPOT AFTER CIMB CLASSIC OPENING ROUND

Rikard Karlberg opened his campaign the 2014 CIMB Classic in style as he finished 7-under 65. The Swede delivered a perfect performance at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club with seven birdies and no bogey. Birdies at the at the last two holes were sufficient to put him ahead of the rest before and after the tournament was delayed due to thunderstorms. Americans Billy Hurley III and Brian Stuard plus Angelo Que of the Philippines are sharing the second position with two strokes behind the leader. Stuard had five birdies on his front nine including four straight from the 14th after starting on the 10th, but also had two bogeys.  Que had six birdies on his first nine holes, benefiting from some superb approach play, and said greater trust in his shot selection had turned around his performance in recent weeks. LEE-ANNE PACE BAGS FIRST LPGA TITLE IN CHINA

​ Lee-Anne Pace bagged her first LPGA tour title by winning the Blue Bay LPGA at Jian Lake Blue Bay in China yesterday after the game was delayed on Sunday due to heavy rain. Fresh from winning the South African Open last week, the 33 year old golfer from South Africa were four strokes ahead with five more holes to play before the officials suspended the game due to darkness together with showers surrounding over the tournament area in the final day.   Pace finished the game with five-under 67 after making a 6-foot birdie putt at the 18th hole to complete the tournament with 16 under 200. Trailing from behind was Caroline Masson of Germany. She also birdied the final three holes for 67 but ended up with 13 under 203 to settle for second spot. MARQUEZ WINS IN SEPANG, ROSSI AND LORENZO ON PODIUM

A huge crowd of more than 80,000 fans witnessed a great Malaysian  MotoGP race with Marc Marquez winning for the first time since Silverstone – riding superbly at round 17 and coming from behind after dropping back from pole on the first lap. Marquez's victory is the 12th of his second season in MotoGP, equaling Mick Doohan 's record of most premier class victories in a single season. The result seals the premier class Constructor's title for Honda and ends a run of four Yamaha victories. Jorge Lorenzo took the early initiative in the race after a first crash by Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) who lost the front around Turn 15 while in second place. Pedrosa recovered to 11th before suffering a second crash. Valentino Rossi took the lead at midrace stage as he got in front of Lorenzo and was followed through by Marquez. WORLD GOLF STARS ARE HEADING TO MALAYSIA FOR CIMB CLASSIC

​ Former World No. 1 Lee Westwood who has won a tournament in every continent, will be making his CIMB Classic debut on the back of a victory at KLGCC via the Malaysian Open earlier this year. With a total of 40 professional wins worldwide, Westwood is part of the victorious Team Europe in Ryder Cup 2014. ​ Returning to the CIMB Classic is eight-time PGA TOUR winner and world No. 3 Sergio Garcia . Garcia had three runner-up finishes on the 2013-14 PGA TOUR season including the Open Championship and the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational. ​ Ryan Moore will also try to defend his CIMB Classic title which he won here in 2013. The former Ben Hogan Award winner and Jack Nicklaus collegiate player of the year is a three-time PGA TOUR winner.  At 30 years, 10 months and 21 days, Ryan Moore was the youngest winner in the four-year history of the CIMB Classic.   ​ Also returning to the CIMB Classic is Billy Horschel , the newly minted FedExCup champion.
