New Zealand continue to write new chapters in the history of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series after beating Canada 33-7 in the final to become the first to successfully defend the HSBC Sydney Sevens title. Malaysia rugby player, Lawrence Petrus has agreed to join University of Western Australia (UWA) for the upcoming season. The 25-year-old forward will take the opportunity to play in the Western Australia Rugby League in starting this April. He will travel to Perth at the end of February and train with his new club before the league kick-off. Standing at 178cm tall, the deal was made possible by his manager, Khairul Shazwan. Lawrence has played for Malaysia senior team for two years in the Premier Division of the Asia Rugby Championship . The 2019 Agong's Cup winner with Terengganu is excited with the move and wants to be featured in as many matches as possible. He also hope that more Malaysian players will take-up new challenges by playing in foreign leagues. The All Blacks Sevens extended their record as the most successful team on home soil in the history of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series with a 27-5 defeat of France in the HSBC New Zealand Sevens Cup final. The title was New Zealand's 10th on home soil but the first in Hamilton, having won their last title in Wellington in 2016. It was also their 60th title in series history and the second of season after victory in Cape Town last month. STJ Home of Warriors won the inaugural TM One Touch Corporate Challenge as they edged SEMSAS in the alumni grand final. The Warriors showed class to beat the SEMSAS old boys 3-2 in a thrilling match. SMS Oldboys bagged the bronze after they beat VIOBA in the third placing match. The Online Rugby Magazine Telekom Malaysia (TM) A clinched the corporate category title after a 4-2 victory over IJM in the final. After displaying good performance during the preliminary round, TM A continued their fine run in the final. Malaysia Airlines (MAS) beat Sime Darby A 2-0 to finish third in the corporate category. The inaugural TM One Touch Corporate Challenge was held at the MMU Stadium in Cyberjaya on Saturday. 12 teams participated in the two categories competition. Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond signed off from his 2019 Asian Tour season just like the way he started when he cruised to a commanding five-shot victory at the Thailand Masters on Sunday.
