It has been a very long time since fans last witnessed a true national-level club competition. The Malaysia Rugby Super League faded away after 2017, leaving a void that even the prestigious Piala Agong could not fully replace. For too long, top-tier inter-club rugby simply disappeared from the local landscape. That is why the return of elite competition, even in a modest form, matters deeply. Rugby in Malaysia needs a platform where clubs can test themselves at the highest level, rebuild ambition, and reignite belief. This season, Bank Muamalat stepped forward with the Muamalat Super 5 Rugby , attempting to revive what had been lost.
