PIALA FA: MELAKA CRUISE INTO NEXT ROUND

PIALA FA: MELAKA UNITED 1 - PKNS 0 Melaka United cruised into the FA Cup third round after beating PKNS FC 1-0 at Hang Jebat Stadium last night. Despite losing to T-Team last Saturday, Melaka United looked different as they controlled the match from the start. Amri Yahyah and Ilija Spasojevic combination in Melaka United's front line made it a busy night for PKNS's defenders. Melaka United almost got the lead in the 21st minute, but Amri's goal was dissallowed because of off-side. The home team doubled their efforts after the break. PKNS was lucky again in the 55th minute as Jeon Woo Young 's attempt hit the goal post. Amri Yahyah finally gave Melaka United the deserving victory in the 65th minute. The striker calmly chested a pass from Spasojevic and shot pass PKNS goalkeeper, Muhammad Zamir . The score remained until the final whistle, and Melaka marched into the next round.

UITM LIONS BEAT STRUGGLING KSDBKL

MRL PREMIER: KSDBKL 25 - UITM LIONS 40 After losing their opening season match against ASAS RC, UiTM Lions suffered another sad news as their Fijian import player, Timoci Ramo Raliwalala  who passed away on Tuesday morning. However, all the setbacks turned into inspirations for the Lions to record a remarkable 40-25 win over KSDBKL at UPM Rugby Field on Sunday. KSDBKL had a better start in the match as they took the first half lead 15-14, but UiTM came on stonger after the break. The Lions got four tries from Mohamad Syahmi Afiq Edan , Peceli Davobalavu and Muhammad Hanaffi Zaini . Mohamad Sofian Mohd Kamil brilliantly scored three conversions to give his team a reason to joy after a very difficult week for them.

MRL PREMIER: ISKANDAR RAIDERS 26 - COBRA 22 Iskandar Raiders claimed their second win in Malaysia Rugby Premier League over a very tough opponent, Cobra on Saturday. The southern club got an early scare by the Cobra as they were down 5-12 at half time. Cobra started-off so well despite losing the opening game last week. Mohd Syahir Asraf Rosli and Mohd Amin Jamaluddin scored three tries before the break to give Cobra a comfortable lead after forty minutes. Iskandar Raiders returned to the pitch with a better attitude in the second half. Another three tries and three conversions summed it all for the Raiders. The Kuala Lumpur based club recorded a huge 37-0 win over the southern team ay Bellamy Rugby Field. Keris Conlay started the rampage after 12 minutes through a penalty by Mohd Fairuz Abd Rahman . Mohd Fairuz scored another penalty and a conversion, following Etonia Vaqa Saukuru 's try to give his team a comfortable 13-0 lead at half time. SSTMI tried to hold Keris Conlay early in the second half. But Keris Conlay players were back in control after 50th minute. MRL PREMIER: SSTMI TSUNAMI 28 - KSDBKL 26 It was another interesting Malaysia Rugby League match in Serdang on Sunday. SSTMI Tsunami clinched their first win after beating KSDBKL 28-26 in a nail-biting match. KSDBKL did not give it easily as they kept the score very close throughout the match. SSTMI took the first half advantage with a try by Mohd Safiy Md Said and conversion by Muhammad A'aziem Badaruddin . KSDBKL opened the scoring earlier with two penalties by Lekima Nasenra . Both team displayed fast approach after the break. SSTMI and KSDBKL made three tries each but kicker, A'aziem gave SSTMI the edge. LIGA SUPER: PKNS 5 - SELANGOR 3 PKNS turned out stronger over neighbour Selangor , after two defeats in their earlier matches against Felda United and Kelantan. Selangor suffered their first defeat in Liga Super this season. The Red Giants started-off positively in the afternoon kick-off and grabbed the lead in the 2nd minute of the match through the youngster Muhammad Syahmi Safari .
