RICKIE FOWLER CLINCHES STUNNING VICTORY AT PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP

​​American Rickie Fowler beat Sergio Garcia and Kevin Kisner in a play-off on a dramatic final day at the Players Championship at Sawgrass. The trio finished on 12-under but Fowler beat Kisner at the first sudden death hole after Garcia was earlier eliminated. It was his second PGA Tour win after success in the Wells Fargo Championship in August 2012. In the first three-hole aggregate play-off in tournament history, Garcia could only play the 16th, 17th and 18th in level par as Fowler and Kisner played them in one under thanks to birdies on the 17th. And Fowler then repeated the trick on the first hole of sudden death to give him a prize of $1.8m (£1.16m) in the tournament often dubbed as golf's richest event. Players Championship (Final) T1. COETZEE WINS THE INAUGURAL AFRASIA BANK MAURITIUS OPEN

​​South African George Coetzee won the inaugural AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open after defeating Dane Thorbjorn Olesen with a birdie on the second play-off hole on Sunday.   Overnight leader Coetzee and Olesen ended regulation play tied on 13-under-par 271 at the Heritage Golf Club following final rounds of two-under-par 69 and 68 respectively before the South African rising star produced a four on the par five 18th hole to seal his seventh title on the Sunshine Tour and second of the 2015 season.   The historic €1 million (approximately US$1.1 million) tournament tri-sanctioned by the Asian, European and Sunshine Tours enjoyed a fitting conclusion with Singapore's veteran Mardan Mamat taking third place, one back of the play-off duo, after he closed with a 67 as all three tours were represented in the top-three.   Power-packed Coetzee seemed in control early in the final round with three birdies in his opening five holes earning him a four-shot cushion. ​ARC: CHINESE TAIPEI 13 - MALAYSIA 46   Malaysia bounced to a good start in the Asian Rugby Championship (ARC) after winning over Chinese Taipei 46-13 at Kelana Jaya Stadium on Sunday. The host nation had a terrible first half before making a brilliant recovery in the second half. Malaysia took the lead in the 6th minute from a try by Atunasia Lacadamu Takubu . Chinese Taipei upped their game and pressured Malaysia. They reduced the deficit through a penalty in the 22nd minute taken by Wen-Pao Chiang . ​The Malaysians lost their lead three minutes later from a try by Ming-Hsien Ho before Min-Ching Chiu added another. The host struggled throughout the first half against the confidence Taiwanese. ​ARC: UAE 53 - THAILAND 22   United Arab Emirates (UAE) started their Asian Rugby Championship (ARC) in style by defeating Thailand 53-22 on Sunday. The opening match at the Kelana Jaya Stadium saw Thailand stunned UAE after two minutes with a try by Warongkorn Khamkoet . UAE replied with a try three minutes later by Christopher Jones-Griffiths but missed their conversion. ​Thailand tried to pull away with another try by Pannapat Pooltharat , but UAE kept them within sight with Jaen Botes try. Both teams were equally good in the first half until UAE got a penalty in the 35th minute. Clint Berkenshaw did not make a mistake to give UAE a 20-17 lead at the break. ​UAE came back in the second half with more effective forward plays. They were quick to close gaps not allowing Thailand players for breakthrough. Phil Brady started to pull UAE away with a try in the 53rd minute. NIRUN WINS PGM SABAH CHAMPIONSHIP

​Thai youngster Nirun Sae-Ueng claimed his maiden Asian Development Tour (ADT) victory at the PGM Sabah Championship on Saturday after defeating reigning Order of Merit champion and countryman Pavit Tangkamolprasert on the first play-off hole. The 20-year-old Thai, who closed with a stunning seven-under-par 65, edged out Pavit on the 18th hole sudden-death shoot-out with a par after the duo tied on eight-under-par 280 in regulation play at the Sabah Golf and Country Club . Phachara Khongwatmai, the youngest winner on the ADT , ensured a strong Thai presence on the final leaderboard when he carded a 67 to share third place on 281 with overnight leader Danthai Boonma, who registered a 71, in the RM200,000 (approximately US$55,400) ADT event, which is the 10th leg of the ADT this season. One-time Asian Tour winner Ben Leong, who hails from Sabah, fired a 66 to emerge as the top Malaysian in fifth place on 284 while two other Thais, Pasamet Pogamnerd (68) and Sutijet Kooratanapisan (72)

PAHANG CLAIM NARROW WIN IN FIRST LEG OF FA CUP SEMI FINAL

​PIALA FA: PAHANG 1 - KELANTAN 0 FA Cup defending champions Pahang took a slim lead from the first leg semi-final match against Kelantan . The Elephants could only record a 1-0 win in the first 90 minutes at Darulmakmur Stadium on Saturday. Pahang had the better share of possession, but wasted too many chances. ​Argentine striker Matias Conti gave the home side an early lead after receiving a nicely set-up pass from Dickson Nwakaeme . The goal should have been the first of many goals for Pahang, but Kelantan's Khairul Fahmi Che Mat was at his best. PAHANG JUMPS TO THE TOP OF SUPER LEAGUE

​LIGA SUPER: PAHANG 1 - PERAK 0   Pahang moved to the top of Malaysia Super League after defeating Perak with 1-0 at Darulmakmur Stadium. Mathias Conti sealed the victory for the Tok Gajah in 70th minutes through penalty after a Perak player handled the ball inside the box, forcing the referee to point to the spot. Perak responded by pushing forward in the last twenty minutes hunting for an equalizer. But Pahang held on to protect their lead and ultimately clinch the win. With six wins and two draws from ten matches played, Pahang are now leading the way with 20 points two points ahead of second and third placed PDRM and JDT. Pahang coach, Zainal Abidin Hasan was full of praises for his team as this win will be a perfect tonic for the Tok Gajah for their upcoming match.
