RED GIANTS TAKE SUPER LEAGUE TOP SPOT

​​LIGA SUPER: ATM 1 - SELANGOR 3 Selangor moved to top of the Super League for the first time this season after an impressive 3-1 win over ATM at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi. Afiq Azmi turned hero for Selangor, the striker scored a brace to lift the Red Giants over the struggling Gladiators . ​The visitors took the lead in the 8th minute from a counter-attack by Andik Vermanyah . The speedy winger sent a perfect through pass for Afiq to fire the opening goal past Forces goalkeeper Razi Effendi Suhit . ATM fought back with the equalizer from a free kick by Mario Karlovic in the 25th minute. The first half ended with 1-1 score. ​Selangor regained the lead again six minutes after the break. Afiq found the net after beating goalkeeper Razi with a close range effort. The Red Giants continued to pressure the home side. In the 70th minute, Andik was brought down inside the penalty area. NEW ZEALAND IN FINAL AFTER DRAW WITH SOUTH KOREA

​AZLAN SHAH CUP: NEW ZEALAND 3 - SOUTH KOREA 3   New Zealand booked the final spot of the 24th edition of Sultan Azlan Shah hockey tournament after being held for a 3-3 draw against South Korea at Ipoh Hockey Stadium, in Ipoh, yesterday. The Oceania representative only needed a draw to qualify to the final and Ryan Archibald put them in driving seat in forth minutes through open goal.  ​The Koreans came back stronger with a speed performance and saw Nam Hyun-Woo hit with a doubles in the 11th minutes and 31st minutes through penalty corner and put the Koreans comfort to take charge. New Zealand put up a fight and Nick Halg hit with an equalizer in 41st minutes and Simon Child put New Zealand back to the lead three minutes later through penalty corner. ​While New Zealand put a dominance with their fine form, Lee-Nam Yong tied up the score with penalty corner in 48th minutes and put the game on level. EDWARD WILSON TURNS HERO FOR FELDA UNITED

​LIGA SUPER: FELDA UNITED 3 - PDRM 2 Felda United has to wait until the final minute to wins over PDRM FA at Stadium Selayang. PDRM leads 2-1 at half time via captain, Mohamad Muslim Ahmad from a free kick past the PDRM's goalkeeper after the ball was deflected to Felda United man.  The Fighter had equalised from Ahmad Syamim before Ashfaq Ali of PDRM had again put the visitor team in front before the half time break. ​Two substitute players, Muhammad Ferris Denial and Edward Junior Wilson introduced by Irfan Bakti to battle in the last 20 minutes had giving a lot pressures to PDRM defenses. The Fighter looked hungry to find scoring and too aggressive in their attacks to win the match. Makeche Ndumba  leveled the scoreline before Edward Junior Wilson sealed the victory in the final minute. With this losing, PDRM has moved down to third spot from top of table. FUNG ROMPS TO 11-STROKE VICTORY AT THE PGM JOHOR CHAMPIONSHIP

​Overnight leader Nicholas Fung of Malaysia claimed his second Asian Development Tour (ADT) win after romping to a commanding 11-stroke victory at the PGM Johor Championship on Saturday. Fung, the 2013 ADT Order of Merit winner, nailed nine birdies against a lone bogey to match his third round efforts of an eight-under-par 64 at the Johor Golf and Country Club . His winning total of 27-under-par 261 would have been the record lowest 72-hole score on the ADT if not for the preferred lies in play. Singapore's Lam Chih Bing and R. Nachimuthu, also of Malaysia, shared second place following identical 71s while newcomer Sean Riordan of New Zealand, who registered a 69, settled for fourth on 276 in the RM200,000 (approximately US$55,400) ADT event. TERENGGANU BEAT PERAK IN IPOH

​ ​LIGA SUPER: PERAK 2 - TERENGGANU 3  Terengganu light up their chances in becoming the title contender of Malaysia Super League competition after crushing Perak with 3-2 score at Ipoh Stadium yesterday.   It was Perak who dominated the game in the first half after Namkong Wong hit the net and put the home team infront in 20th minutes. A few good chances was blown away due to poor finishing and the first half end  with Terengganu trailing the game with one goal. ​In second half, Terengganu start to generate the game positively and fullback, Vincent Bikana hit for an equalizer through a powerful header in 63rd minutes. Ismail Faruqi Ashari put the visitors ahead also with a header in 74th minutes. Charles Souza Chad ensure the home team back to the level in 82nd minutes with a long range. IT'S MALAYSIA VS TOTTENHAM IN MAY

​Tottenham Hotspur will tackle a Malaysia XI in a post-season friendly in Kuala Lumpur next month, the Premier League club announced on Tuesday. It will be Tottenham's first visit to Malaysia since 1979. Malaysia's head coach Dollah Salleh , who confirmed that the match would be played at 8.45pm, said the match would be the last platform to finalise a team for the Asian Cup and World Cup qualifiers that starts in June. ​The League Cup finalists will play a Malaysian select team at the Shah Alam Stadium on May 27, three days before facing off against Sydney FC in another friendly match in Sydney. SULTAN AZLAN SHAH CUP: SOUTH KOREA BEAT MALAYSIA

​AZLAN SHAH CUP: MALAYSIA 2 - SOUTH KOREA 3   Malaysia failed to maintain their winning run after going down to former Asian champions South Korea with a narrow 3-2 score at Azlan Shah Stadium in Ipoh, yesterday. Playing in their forth match in for the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup , South Korea stunned the host with an opening goal in the third minute. Lee Nam-Yong added the second in the 29th minute to give the South Korean a comfortable 2-0 lead. ​Two goals within four minutes put Malaysia back into the match. Faizal Saari found the net in the 32nd minute and Razie Rahim equalised in the 34th minute. While the Malaysian hunting for the winner, Kim Young-Jin beat the Malaysian defence again for the visitors' third goal. The goal was enough to end Tai Beng Hai boys' dream of play in the final. ​Meanwhile, South Korea may clinch the final spot if they can topple New Zealand in the next match.
