WOZNIACKI WINS MALAYSIAN OPEN TITLE AFTER BEATING DULGHERU

​All eyes were on Centre Court as the singles final of The BMW Malaysian Open 2015 took place between top seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark and World No 94 Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania. Less than 20 minutes into the game with the score tied at 1-1, the match was stopped because of rain.   Once the match resumed after slightly more than 2 hours, Dulgheru displayed true grit, sheer determination and fighting spirit which has been evident all throughout the competition, as she powered her way to take the first set 6-4. On her way the final, Dulgheru disposed of eighth seed Julia Goerges of Germany in the quarterfinals and fourth seed Jarmila Gajdosova of Australia in the semi-final.   ​​In the second set, Wozniacki raised the stakes, hitting hard and using her solid backhand groundstrokes among others to take the second set 6-2. UITM LIONS BEAT JLJ DI RAJA TO CLINCH SEMI FINAL BERTH

MRSL: UITM LIONS 36 – JLJ DI RAJA 19 UiTM Lions moved closer to the Malaysia Rugby Super League final as they convincingly won their quarterfinal match against JLJ Di Raja 36-19. The Lions showed great determinations in the second half to overcome JLJ's narrow lead. ​​JLJ took an early lead with a try by Aiman Jamaludin just after four minutes into the game. UiTM Lions replied with a try by Muhd Firdaus Md Hassan ten minutes later. JLJ was very competitive as they got another try by Effendi Uzir before Shafee Burhanalis pulled further with the conversion. Four minutes before the break, Anwarul Hafiz Ahmad crossed the touch-line to keep UiTM's title dream alive. ​UiTM Lions came on for the second half with stronger characters. ​​​​MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: JDT 2 - SARAWAK 1 Johor Darul Ta'zim continued their defence of the league title they won last year by beating Sarawak . They secured vital three points after coming from behind to secure a morale-boosting victory over Sarawak on Saturday. ​​​The home side started the game well, but the Crocs kept their defence tight. The visitor were very dangerous on the counter. Billy Mehmet fired home to make it 1-0 midway through the first half. ​JDT fought back for an equaliser. Safiq Rahim gave their fan a big relief as he curled home to make it 1-1. Safiq hits again before Sarawak could recover with a long range effort right before the break. The second half was a balance contest, both sides had their fair share of opportunities. JDT held on tight to secure the valuable three points. COBRA MARCH INTO THE LAST FOUR

​​MRSL: COBRA 23 - SERDANG ANGELS 8 COBRA confirmed their place in the semi final of 2015 Rugby Super League after the rugby powerhouse successfully beat home favorite Serdang Angels 22-8 at UPM Rugby Field in Serdang on Saturday. COBRA took an early lead with Vatimio Rabebe try in 15th minutes followed by Sae Faalupega penalty ten minutes later before Mohamad Syarif Saiful Azwan reduced the deficit for Serdang Angels with a penalty late in the first half. ​The Rugby Powerhouse looses a bit of the grip when Mohamad Faiz Helmi grabbed an equalizer with a try nine minutes after restart. COBRA's coach Khairizal Ali Ahmad was forced to makes a few changes in the lineups and the tactics.  ​COBRA started to generate the game positively and increased their game with three tries a courtesy of Mohammad Amin Jamaluddin in 54th minute followed by Mohammad Syahir Asraf in 62nd minute. WANG YAFAN-LIANG CHEN WINS BMW MALAYSIAN OPEN DOUBLES

​Chinese pair Wang Yafan and Liang Chen overcame a first set loss to win the BMW Malaysian Open doubles title at the Royal Selangor Golf Selangor Club today.   Yuliya Belgeyzimer and Olga Savchuk looked set to hand Wang and Liang their second defeat to Ukrainians in as many WTA finals after winning the first set 6-4. The Asian duo came back to win 6-3 in the second to force a super tie break where they convincingly won 10-4.  The win in Kuala Lumpur was their first title as a pair and also Wang's first WTA title of any sorts. FELDA UNITED HELD BY LIONS XII

​​MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: FELDA UNITED 0 - LIONS XII 0 Super League Leader, Felda United failed to use their home advantage after being held Lions XII to a scoreless draw at the Selayang Stadium on Saturday. The home side took full control of the first half by limiting Lions movements inside Felda's area. ​ ​Ndumba Makeche , Ahmad Syamim and Edward Wilson Jr were in the starting line-up but they failed to find the net despite the team's domination. Lions came on in the second half with a more organized tactic. They had their best chance came in the 64th minute, but Amri's swerving free-kick was denied by the bar. ​ ​Four minutes later, The Fighters had another good opportunity. ​Crowd favourite and World No 52 Jarmila Gajdosova of Australia took on World No 94 Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania in the first singles semi-final of the day. This was the third time this year these two players were facing each other, and it turned out to be one of the most entertaining matches of this year's tournament as both players were on form and equally determined to reach the final.   In the first set, Gajdosova served an ace and committed two less double faults than Dulgheru even though the Romanian served well. Gajdosova managed to upstage her opponent to take the first set 7-5. In the second set, Dulgheru knew she had her work cut out for her if she was to remain in contention for the final, so she stepped up her game against the hard-hitting Australian. She served three aces and continued to serve well, matching Gajdosova and making her run all over the court.
