LABUAN RUGBY CARNIVAL IS BACK

The 17th edition of Labuan Rugby Carnival will kick-off on Saturday. A total of 54 teams from all over South East Asia have confirmed their participation at the biggest rugby carnival in Borneo. Labuan is ready to welcome more than 2000 rugby enthusiasts this weekend.

Started in the year 2001, the Labuan 10's Rugby Carnival have became the tournament every rugby player wants to play. The tournament which is held in the beautiful Labuan island, is the tournament to attend for every rugby fraternity. There are five categories this year. Mens Club, Womens Club, Veterans, Boys Under 16 and Girls Under 16.

Defending champions in mens category, OSCA Warriors will be back to defend the title. SOWRC Angels, Brunei Bastidos and Melaka Juniors are also expected to be at the Labuan Square to defend the Womens, Veterans and Boys U16 titles respectively. The Girls U16 is a new category introduced this year after the fast growing numbers of female players in the game.

After 17 years, the Labuan Rugby Carnival have hosted many top rugby clubs from all over the region. Cobra, Eagles RC, Blackhawks, UiTM Barbarians and OSCA Warriors have won the mens category more than once. Many legends have also made appearances on the historical Labuan Square ground. So, there is no better place for all rugby fans this weekend except in Labuan. The tradition continues, those who believes will be champions.
