PATRICK REED BECOMES THE YOUNGEST WGC WINNER

Image
Patrick Reed wins the WGC-Cadillac Championship by a single shot as Jamie Donaldson posted his best World Golf Championships finish with a share of second place. Reed was overnight leader with two shots clear at Trump National Doral and doubled that advantage with three birdies and a bogey in his opening four holes. Bubba Watson and Donaldson reduced the gap to three as Reed recorded nine straight pars, before a missed putt from inside five feet cost the American a bogey at the 14th. Donaldson then got within one shot after a magnificent approach to the 17th left him a tap-in birdie, only to bogey the last after finding sand with his approach. Reed knocked his effort on the 17th to tap-in range to erase any concerns of a three-putt bogey, then laid up at the last and two putted for victory in his first WGC stroke-play event, having made his debut at the recent Accenture Match Play Championship . At 23 years old he also becomes the youngest winner of a WGC event, breaking the

YEMEN FELL PREY TO MALAYSIAN TIGERS

ASIAN CUP QUALIFYING: YEMEN 1 - MALAYSIA 2 Playing with 10-man for almost the entire match, Malaysia pulled off an amazing result by beating Yemen 2-1 in a Group D 2015 Asian Cup Qualifying match at the Tahnon Bin Mohamed Stadium in Al Ain City, Dubai yesterday. Amirizwan Taj Tajudin was shown a straight red for what looked like nothing more than a mild tangle with a Yemen striker Sadam Hussein and Yemen were also awarded a dubious penalty by the referee. Though, Wahid Mohammed Al-khyat 's tame spot kick was saved by Khairul Fahmi Che Mat . The Harimau Malaya who were reduced to 10-man before the 10th minute played like real tigers to shock the Yemen side with Amri Yahya put Malaysia infront in the 16th minute. RUSSELL HENLEY CLAIMS HONDA CLASSIC AFTER PLAYOFF

Image
In wild Sunday at PGA National , Russell Henley chipped in for birdie and then hit into the water on his next shot for double bogey. He watched Rory McIlroy throw away a lead with a double bogey and a bogey, only to stand over a 12-foot eagle putt on the next hole with a chance to win. At the end of the four-man playoff, Henley took his second chance well at the par-5 18th to win the Honda Classic . It was pretty crazy like no one seemed to want to win the tournament. Starting with Tiger Woods walking off the course after 13 holes because of lower back pain, and ending with a series of blunders over the closing holes. Eight yards away from where he had hit drive on the 18th in regulation, Henley ripped another 5-wood and aimed a little more right. It barely cleared the bunker and stopped 40 feet away on the green for a two-putt birdie that was good enough to win when McIlroy, Ryan Palmer and Russell Knox could only make par. In regulation, Henley turned what should have been
