SINGAPORE BEAT THAILAND TO CLINCH ASIA RUGBY DIV II TITLE

Singapore displayed a great performance to win the Asia Rugby Championship Division II. They beat Thailand 38-13 in an exciting finale at the Taipei Municipal Stadium on Sunday. Singapore stormed into the final after a 49-0 win over India, and Thailand beat host Chinese Taipei to set-up the mouth-watering final. The victory means the Republic are back in Division 1 of the championship.

Thailand gave a good fight early in the game. They kept the score narrow before David Gull's try gave Singapore a comfortable 21-10 lead at the break.

Singapore returned stronger in the second half. They gave no space for Thailand to make a comeback. Maverick Lim and Robert Riha extended their advantage to 33-13 just about 15 minutes after the match resumed. Both sides made a few substitutions to keep the final alive. And then, Singapore's Teng scored another try to seal the Asia's second division title for his team. It was another great competition hosted by Chinese Taipei, who finished third after defeating India in another match earlier.
